Joan Ocean, MS is respected as one of the nation's leading researchers in the field of human-dolphin communication. In 1984 she co-founded with Mr. Jean-Luc Bozzoli, their company known as Dolphin Connection International.

This is an organization that explores the advancement of human consciousness, biophysics, healing and spirituality by producing books, art forms, visionary films, and Ocean Seminars encouraging friendship between people and the highly intelligent, ocean-swimming dolphins and whales.

Ms Ocean has a Master of Science degree in Psychological Counseling and Human Development and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Welfare.

Laura Derocher is a transformational singer, songwriter, recording artist, speaker, teacher and sound healer. She has studied sound healing with Jonathan Goldman (founder of the Sound Healers Association and Grammy winner for sound healing recording), Kay Gardner, Daniel Statnekov and others. She has sung, spoken and led workshops at spiritual centers, conferences and gatherings all over the United States. Laura specializes in the use of the human voice for transformation and healing. Our dolphin and whale friends are masters of sound. During this sacred retreat, let’s be inspired by these beloved creatures. Sound healer Laura Derocher will guide us in using a powerful, free, always available, transformational tool: our own unique voice. No singing skills are required. In this sound healing “sampler” session, Laura will teach us up to three amazing vocal practices:
1. Toning for balanced chakras, pain relief, healing and expanded consciousness.
2. Non-verbal vocal expression to effect positive change.
3. Creating a chantfirmation: an affirmation wrapped in a melody, to help you flourish.

Tiger Paw
Master Drummer and Founder Tiger Paw Percussion
"Tiger Paw" is a Master Drummer and founder of the Tiger Paw International Drum School in Kona, Hawaii, dedicated to world peace and non-violent communication. She teaches Afro-Cuban, Haitian, and African rhythms along with professional performance skills. Additional courses in ethnomusicology focus on specific cultures and origins of rhythms.

Tiger Paw is a spiritual mentor committed to global peace. Her music and her teaching embraces this philosophy, “Let's stop talking about world peace and let's begin by living it! Drumming takes us there, to source. It happens in each one's heart, easily, joyfully, and in a moment!” She has recorded globally and with local groups here on the Big Island. She recorded the c.d. From the Shore to the Sea, with Tiger Rising and recorded Heart of the Matter, with musician Kabir.

She recently was the percussionist for the Kona Festival Chorale, working with musicians Roberta King and Brian McCree. Currently she teaches classses and private lessons and is composing compositions for her new c.d.and is a recording artist and performer on the Big Island and globally.

Tiger Paw and her troop will bring us into ecstatic dance with her mezmerizing drumming after the Luau Celebration on 11-11-11 evening. Her rhythm is infectious, joyous and powerful. At some point during her playing, she will invite participants to join in the drumming if you like. If you have a drum, by all means bring it with you!
